About The Link To Your Club's Calendar
Your Calendar Link: How to make it look as if our pages live on your site: Frame it
QUESTION: Why is there a utility to email the link to the Club's Calendar?
ANSWER: To make things simpler for you.
This allows you to have a handy reference to the link to your Club's Calendar
and quickly send it to whom you wish.
This link is in the form: http://bridge-results.com/results/xxxx/cal.html
where the xxxx is replaced by the club's Account Number.
You can email the link to your web master for insertion in your web pages,
to other club members so they can make a favorite of it,
or to yourself so you have a reference to it.
You can change the text in the generic Email, and this will be kept in between
your mailings (although not between sessions)
You can also copy and paste the link into Outlook Express, Word, etc.
Put it in your newsletter, on your club van or any advertising.
Question: Can I make the pages look like they are coming from my web site?
Answer: Sure. If you or your web master make a page like the following:
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>The Bridge Place - Results</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<FRAMESET ROWS="100%,*" BORDER="0">
<FRAME SRC="http://bridge-results.com/results/5002/cal.html">
<FRAME FRAMEBORDER="0" noresize>
</FRAMESET>
<NOFRAMES>
<CENTER>
Hmmmmm.... Your Browser doesn't support frames!<BR>
<A href="http://bridge-results.com/results/5002/cal.html">
Click Here For The Bridge Place Results Calendar<A>
</CENTER>
</NOFRAMES>
</HTML>
Replace The Bridge Place above with your Club Name,
and change the 5002 to your account number.
Many people make a folder called results off their web site's
main folder and place this file in it as index.html
Thus for example,
A link in HTML could then be placed in your web pages:
<a href="http://thebridgeplace.com/results/" target="_blank">http://thebridgeplace.com/results</a>
replacing http://thebridgeplace.com with your web site address
which would create the following link for the viewer:
http://thebridgeplace.com/results
You can or surround an image with the link or change the text to be seen, like:
A link in HTML could then be placed in your web pages:
<a href="http://thebridgeplace.com/results/" target="_blank">Results Calendar</a>
replacing http://thebridgeplace.com with your web site address
which would create the following link for the viewer:
Results Calendar
This would link the calendar, the day page and the results page all looking like they
are coming from your web site.
